RUN ON showed speed from the start, was shaken up occasionally in the first half mile, lost much ground in going to the outside of NICK D. in the stretch and, wearing down the latter under strong hand riding, outlasted him. NICK D. sprinted into a long lead, raced wide for the firmer going and held on stubbornly after being headed. ULTIMATE VOTE, a strong factor throughout, raced gamely in the stretch. BOX OFFICE raced well. BLOW FLY, slow to start, came through on the inside entering the stretch. ULTIE VOTE began slowly. CLOIRADO was racing close up when he bolted on the stretch turn and DELMA DUNN went out with him. UNCLE CHARLEY, lucky at the start and under light restraint for half a mile, worked his way into the load gradually and, holding on well under strong urging after drawing clear, was not seriously threatened. ED REESE, probably best and away poorly, was forced to race wide throughput, gradually improved his position, but could not reach the winner. BELL O SCOTLAND, outrun for three-quarters, was slow to respond to pressure, but closed well. LADS RUN showed an even performance. MUTUAL FRIEND,, taken into a long lead, tired in the stretch. ROCKY WAY and SURPASS quit in the drive. NERVATOR appeared to sulk. Won driving; second and third the same. BOSTON WATERS, away fast and forced to race wide on the turn, slowly wore down HAROLD JR. and, holding on gamely, outlasted MODERN ACE. The latter, away slowly, was in close quarters entering the final eighth and, after closing much ground, finished fast. HAROLD JR. showed speed, then tired. GLORI-TONE held on gamely in a good performance. BALLYGRAN saved ground early, was forced back in the first quarter, but finished fastest of all after going to the outside in the last sixteenth. ALMADELE raced wide. SIR ANTHONY could not get up. CHECKERBERRY also raced wide throughout and, responding to hard pressure in the stretch, swerved but withstood the challenge of TONY JOE. The latter, away slowly, closed resolutely on the inside, where the going was quite holding. OUTER HARBOR, away in motion and well rated, quit in the final eighth. BEST ACE raced wide most of the way and held on gamely. CHENE met early interference, saved ground, but was in the worst, going and held on gamely. TRAUMEL began fast, was nicely rated and, while no match for the winner, held on gamely, outlasting TIGER FLOWERS. Tha latter saved much ground and raced resolutely in a long drive. LA FERIA, slow to start and far back until the final three-eighths, closed a gap in the stretch. KLINGSTONE swerved under pressure. VANQUISH raced wide and did not threaten. BILL LUTZ quit.
