SEGUNDA, slow to start, soon rushed into a forward position and, taking command on the stretch turn, was doing her best at the end to hold CHIEF ALMGREN. The latter could not keep up early, but was gaining fast on the outside at the end. BONSILLA raced evenly. ELEANOR M. tired. MISS MIKIOI saved ground on the stretch turn and finished well. PRINCESS CEUTA forged to the front after a quarter and, taking a good lead entering the stretch, bore out and interfered with MASTER TONEY in the stretch. MASTER TONEY, always close up, would have been more" of a factor but for interference. PURPLE LIGHT was outrun early, but closed a gap. VICE also closed well. MATERIAL quit badly. THE CYRENIAN and EXPERIMENT FIRST were practically left at the post. CARILINA closed a gap in the stretch. BLACK SHIRT had a good advantage to the last eighth, then tired. DON JR. was racing well at the end. PETIT PAN was away slowly. PANDA, poorly ridden, lost, much ground, but raced wide all the way. ONO saved ground in the stretch and finished gamely. SIR DEAN closoed a gap. LONG RUN was cut off on the first turn, then raced up to the leaders, but had little left for the final drive. JUDGE AUSTIN and TOMMIE KIRNAN tired.
