SHIP SPRINGSTEEL MONDAY CLEVELAND, Ohio, May 28.— Springsteel, Sylvester W. Labrots Ohio State Derby candidate, will be shipped Monday from Toronto, along with one other horse which will start in the Derby, ace .rding to racing secretary Julius Reeder, who received a telegram from William Irvine, trainer, to this effect. Trainer Irvine said that Springsteel posit tively would start in the Ohio Derby, which is to be run June 4 at Bainbridge Park, and that he probably would send Open Hearth here to run in the same event. He has reserved four stalls at Bainbridge. Open Hearth ran a nose second to Lucky Tom in the Louisiana Derby in New Orleans last winter and many thought he could have won but for interference in the last few strides by Tony Pascuma, who was astride Lucky Tom, which is also coming for the Ohio Derby. Springsteel is the conqueror of Tick On, defeating the Max Hirsch representative in his first start of the spring season in Maryland. Both horses have been giving a good account of themselves in thQ Canadian races.
