POLYPHOTE, never far back, raced as if best and, taking a good lead when OSWEGO PRINCESS began to tire, held sway to the finish and won easily. MINTOGEE, rushed into contention soon after the start, was not good enough. PRIMUTE closed a gap and finished well. OSWEGO PRINCESS opened up a good lead near the stretch turn, but tired. WARBLE showed early speed. AFTER DARK raced fairly well. BAGGAGE MISS was in trouble early. BLACK COMET lost little time in taking the lead and, withstanding the stretch challenge of GAY PAST, drew into a long lead near the finish. GAY PAST, racing well, raced up to the leader at mid-stretch, but was not good enough. FIDDLER raced evenly, but was outrun by the leaders. RUSTY was shuffled back in the first quarter and made up ground in the stretch. ANGRY was in close quarters early and was never dangerous. DELVEN outbroke the others, but was not good enough to keep up. The others were outrun. RED ROAMER, never far back, closed fast under hard urging and, overtaking MR. JOE near the end, was slowly drawing away. MR. JOE followed the pace of VERUZZA closely to the stretch, then took command and, although holding on fairly well, could not withstand the winner. HOPULIKIT could not keep up . early, but finished well. VERUZZA dashed to the front soon after the start, but tired after being overtaken in the stretch. STIMOWAY was in early trouble. DURVA was outrun early, but closed gamely on the inside. FERVOR and CAIUS tired in the stretch. The others were outrun.
