The others were outpaced. SWEEPERMAN raced on the outside of the winner all the way and had no excuses. DEWHURST, away forwardly, was soon outpaced, but finished well. NEVER QUIT showed good speed and held on gamely. ESCOBA FRANCE came fast in the stretch. CHILOW was eased up in the stretch after having been shuffled back on the far turn. WISE MAID raced forwardly and shook off AMOUR in the stretch. The latter tired badly. NORTH VERNON outlasted the others. SHASTA CHARMER tired badly, as did the others. FAIR METAL was pulled up after going the first half, when jockey Ellis injured his leg. PRANCING STEP was practically left. NOSDUH and RUDYARD were eased up in the last eighth.
