MAGGIE LOVE forced a good early pace. CHASTE MORN finished with a rush. ASSYRIAN PRINCE was used up early and tired after half a mile. GOELAND raced evenly. QUEEN TOWTON, outrun for. half a mile, saved much ground and finished gamely. ELLA RUFUS gained steadily on the outside. ROSE SPOT raced well for five-eighths. TREACLE had no excuses. LIGHT NUN, taken into the lead at once and kept under pressure, tired near the end. REIGHBURN lost ground all the way. BOBBY FOLSOM tired in the late stages. STURDY was unable to reach the leaders. TOUT FEU reached LOGWOOD without much effort, but was hindered when Mitchell repeatedly took hold of TOUT FEUS saddle cloth and the jockeys became involved in grabbing at each other in the stretch. TOUT FEU drew away at the end when clear. LOGWOOD showed early speed, shook off STEP OFF and appeared beaten until Mitchell took hold of TOUT FEU. STEP OFF showed a good performance. NIPIGON was never a factor. CHATHAM QUEEN was outrun. KAURI was unable to reach the leaders. TOUT FEU, LOGWOOD and STEP OFF were disqualified for fouling. WOOD GOD, taken under mild restraint when outpaced, was placed to punishment and closed gamely in the final drive. HAZEL GUMBERTS caught GAY PAL without effort, came through on the inside of the latter, but faltered steadily during the stretch run. VERY HIGH was outrun. GAY PAL quit badly.
