REPAID IS DECISIVE VICTOR! I Five Lengths Ahead of Kerry Patch in Junior Championship Stakes. Caterwaul, the Favorite, Finishes Third When De Valera Weakens Blenheim Edgemere Handicap Winner. NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 1. The Quincy Stables Repaid won the Junior Championship Stakes, for two-year-olds, which was the banner attraction on the final days card of the Aqueduct meeting this afternoon, and at the end of the mile, which was run in 1:39, the Kai Sang gelding was in front by five lengths. Finishing second was L. Rosenbergs Kerry Patch, and more than two lengths back of him came Caterwaul, the favorite, from the C. V. Whitney stable. De Valera went to the front in this but weakened as the stretch was reached, and in the final sixteenth Repaid fairly ran over both Kerry Patch and De Valera to sweep over the line in hand. Kerry Patch had no trouble beating Caterwaul for the place and De Valera had quit badly after liis fast early pace, to be five lengths back of the Whitney colt but four lengths before his stablemate Dominus. . This score added ,290 to the earnings of Repaid, but the sporting credit of beating two such colts as Kerry Patch and Caterwaul was of more importance. When Blenheim romped home with the Edgemere Handicap it added ,700 more to his earnings. It was really no contest. He left the post running and Malley had him in hand and he sped along to still be in hand as he crossed the line the winner by half a dozen lengths. Apprentice, after going along in second place all the way, beat Rocky News a dozen lengths for the place. Robertson had Apprentice under a steadying restraint as Blenheim went along with a lead of four lengths and, when the long stretch was reached, he made his challenge. The son of Vulcain responded to his call, but Blenheim had so much in reserve that Malley had only to let out a link of his restraint to have the four-year-old draw away and at the line his lead was greater than at any time in the running, with the other two saggering back of him. By his score the Bienheim earnings for the year reached 8,370. His other important victories have been in the Brooklyn, Brookdale, Empire City and Aqueduct Handicaps. Frank Taylor returned from Lexington, Ky., where he signed up with the Coldstream Stud to train. Taylor will return to Kentucky in the next few days and take over his new duties.
