HAYFIRE closed a big gap. SHOOT raced well all the way. DARK MISSION showed good speed for three-quarters. ATHOL was never prominent. HAPPY WARRIOR was knocked to the otuside on the back stretch. Start good and slow. Won easily; second and third driving. REDBRIDGE, under restraint for a turn and a half of the field, took a long lead when ALPHEUS refused at the nineteenth fence, drew out, but landed badly at the last fence, but was far in advance of the others. ALPHEUS opened up a good lead and was well in front when he refused and ran out of the course at the nineteenth fence, but was brought back and Finished well. CAPTAIN SOMERS hit the second fence and finished well. MASTERY was always far back. ROYAL DOULTON fell at the sixteenth fence, was remounted and completed the course. ELCIDIO closed with a belated rush. CLEAR SKY moved up on the outside near the half-mile post, but was unable to reach the leaders. DUNRODE showed good speed in pacemaking. ST.
