INDIAN BOY, hard urged in the early stages, moved up on the inside midway of the turn, took command and, taken out into the firmer footing, drew away easily. GADAROUND, far back early, closed resolutely in the Final three-eighths. SHAPFELL, sluggish and a slow starter, circled the others while losing much ground, but finished fast. AXENTEA followed close up on the outside of the leaders and raced well. VON SION and BONNIE CAIN raced each other into defeat. AXON raced evenly. WAHOO could not get going. SHYLOCK broke rapidly and went along under restraint when displacing BANDIT at the fourth fence, opened up a winning lead and, saving ground wherever possible, had enough to stall off LUCKITE. Th latter worked his way to the leaders gradually in the last half mile, but was steered wide and hung under a drive. OUTLAW moved up boldly going to the twelfth jump, but weakened thereafter. FLAVIUS, shuffled back early, was never able to threaten the leaders seriously. OUI MONSIEUR tired after a mile and one-half. BANDIT quit. LIGHT PLUME refused at the third fence. EGAD and OLD PARDNER fell at the second. The latter broke his leg and was Hestroyed. BERRILLDON FLASH lost his rider at the first fence. FLAMBOROUGH, hurried into a contending position, was nof hustled for three-quarters, reached SWEET CHARIOT when ready and held sway in the last eighth. ESPINETTA, taken to the outside when reaching the back stretch, improved her position steadily, came through on the inside of the leaders in the stretch and finished gamely. SWEET CHARIOT, kept in the best footing from the start, took an easy lead, but tired fast when urged. APPREHENSIVE dropped back soon after the start and, although closing a big gap, did not threaten the leaders. CRAP SHOOTER and YANKAWAY quit badly. Overweight Yankaway, 2 pounds. WflT6? WHITE THORN, away in a tangle, saved much ground on the first turn and finished gamely. AT TOP showed good form. MORALIST was shuffled back going to the first turn. ABSOLUTE, outpaced to tha first turn, could not improve his position. BURNING FEET began slowly. FELRAP stumbled soon after the start and was not a factor thereafter.
