CHATWINK began well, saved ground while keeping close up in the early stages, went to the outside in the stretch and, withstanding strong urging, wore down THROUGH OMOND, but tired badly near tha end. The latter showed good speed in the going, drew into a long lead, but tired after five -eighths. MEANY raced wide and closed gamelv in a good performance. NEXT CALL began slowly and closed fastest of all. TEA TOPICS was on the inside almost all tho way. WISE MONA showed early speed. IL TROVATORE dropped out of it after a quarter. EBONY LADY had the most speed from tho start, was shaken up repeatedly and did not fully extend herself, but was not threatened and had something in reserve. FLAG WAVE was under strong urging after a quarter, went to the outside in the stretch and closed resolutely. PLAYING ON stumbled soon after the start, had speed, but weakened after five-eighths. DURB had no mishaps. MIGOSH could not get up. The others were outrun.
