FLAG WAVE, well ridden close up under urging for half a mile, went gamely under strong pressure in the final quarter and wore down METEORIC fifty yards out, but could not draw away. METEORIC, hustled into clear command, saved ground on the stretch turn and failed to withstand the winner, yet held on fairly well. JIM MACAW, never far back, raced wide in the final three-eighths and held on well. MISS JUSTICE was on the outside all the way. BEN MINTURN raced green. THISTLE WISE swerved repeatedly. NEEDLES, showing good speed under strong riding and in the firmer going throughout, rallied when called upon entering the stretch, was overtaken by BARASHKOVA, but came again and won in a driving finish. BARASHKOVA showed good speed, was on the inside for three-eighths, then came out entering the stretch, bore in near the end and lost in the final strides. STARBOARD LIGHT, a factor from the start, outlasted DONDAY. The latter raced wide and held on well. UNCLE MATT began well, but dropped back on the stretch turn. BOYS HOWDY was weakly ridden. RUNNING WATER, in close quarters early, lacked speed when clear. COOTS dropped out of it on the turn. JACOBS LADDER, blocked approaching the far turn and forced far out of it, went to the outside in the stretch and closed resolutely. GRACEFUL LAD,- away slowly, worked his way into contention through the worst part of the track, dropped back when he stumbled on the turn, but came asain on the outside. PANIC BLUES quit. GALLANT SIR, rated along under strong restraint for a mile and a quarter, was vigorously shaken up in the final half mile, shook off MAD FRUMP entering the stretch and drew away steadily thereafter, but was ridden out. MAD FRUMP, well rated, rallied mildly when called upon in the final half mile, but tired in the closing quarter, yet was best of the others. GUSTO, allowed to drop out of it, was put to pressure in the final five-eighths, but could not improve his position. CEE TEE had no mishaps. REHOBOTH tired badly. BIG BEAU trailed throughout. The latter, rated behind the pace, took the lead with a rush, swerved and careened into the i winner entering the final eighth and tired when straightened out. HIGH STORM began fast, sulked under light pressure on. the second turn and was going gamely and kindly in the late stages. BOBBY POWERS had no mishaps PRIN. CESS DONNA was hard ridden near the end.
