DERBY DAY MUTUEL HANDLE LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 8.— Although the decline was less than track officials anticipated, Saturdays Derby Day mutuel turnover was slightly more than 00,000 less than went through the machines the same day last year. Saturdays "handle" was 45,-603, against 50,809 last year. Of Saturdays betting, 29,312 was wagered on the Derby, whereas 77,105 was placed in Derby bets last year.
