DIVERT, close up from the start and mildly restrained for three-eighths, was brought out entering the stretch and, continuing well after going around the leaders with rush, outlasted PARA FOUR. The latter lost much ground and closed with a rush. PLAYFUL MARTHA, also forced to race wide most of the way, made up ground rapidly in the final eighth. YTFIN was strongly urged throughout. MINNEQUA was used up racing with WIND SONG and tired badly. JASCHA had no mishaps. WIND SONG, on the inside all the wav, showed speed, but quit badly after half a mile. KISSIE was not a factor. COG-AIR, a strong factor from the start, but in close quarters, saved ground for half a mile and, working his way up near the stretch, bore out while wearing down HOUR ZEV and won drawing out. The latter showed speed from the start, was hard ridden after three-eighths and, while no match for the winner, held on well. GUNFIRE began fast, was taken back slightly on the turn and tired badly under urging. HALLIARD had no mishaps. PRINCESS CAROLYN showed early speed. POLLYS FOLLY close a.gap in the stretch. ETCETERA was hard urged . from the start and quit badly in the final three-sixteenths. LAMP BLACK, taken back on the far turn, bore out on the strech turn and raced wide thereafter. HOT SHOT quit. OLD JUDGE, allowed to remain out of it for three-quarters, responded stoutly to light pressure and outgamed CHOKOLOSKEE. The latter appeared too much for his light rider, but closed well. OUT BOUND could not reach the leaders and tired in the final eighth. BROWN WISDOM quit badly after showing early speed. CLARIFY, forced back when DON LEON came over soon after the start, was moving up fast when SUPREME SWEET went over, closing an opening in the final eighth and, kept on the inside, where he lacked room, finished under restraint. WAYLAYER closed with a rush and went out an additional sixteenth in 1:24. DON LEON, rank at the post, came over soon after the start and dropped out of it on the stretch turn.
