FORTY NAMED FOR THE ILLINOIS DERBY AURORA 111 May 10 Forty nominations have been received to date for the Illinois Derby 10000 added which is to be run at a mile and a quarter over the Fox Valley Jockey Club course at Aurora on May 23 Among the prominent threeyearolds named are the Dixiana Stables Mata Hari fleet filly which set the pace in the Kentucky Derby and Chasar a stabiemate stabiemateGeneral General manager Robert S Eddy Jr said that in addition to this star nominations were received from the following Boy Valet Blue Again Broadstep Coldwater Four Spot Kashgar Collateral Fogbound Cotton Club Mr James Our Sailor Dusty Dawn Ding Bin Essie Wessie Susan Slick Gallant Mac Indian Salute Plight Loggia Pharatime Morning Cry Naval Cadet Our David Walkalong Swimalong Sir Thomas Southland Duke Thistle Fly Thomasville Vitamin B War Pledge Jens Son My Man Fogarty Grayback Mr Bun Secluded and Patchpocket PatchpocketRobert Robert Smith trainer of Cavalcade is undecided whether to nominate having until May 14 However he is shipping to the Chicago district around that time to meet other stake engagements and there is a pos ¬ sibility he will be one of the lastminute nominees The stake was increased from 5000 last year to 10000 this season
