PLIGHT FOR THE CLASSIC First to Be Named for Arlington ArlingtonParks Parks 35000 Added Event Eventfor for Three Year Olds Plight winner of the Texas Derby a 10 000 added attraction at Arlington Downs has the honor of being the first nominee for the 35000 added Classic to be renewed at Arlington Park during the thirtyday meet ¬ ing starting June 25 25Nomination Nomination of the threeyearold bay geld ¬ ing by Busy American and Edith Alice was received from trainer Phil Reuter acting for owner William Sachsenmaicr along with that of Indian Salute another ca ¬ pable performer These two horses and the fouryearold Pot au Brooms also were nominated for the Stars and Stripes Handicap and Arlington Handicap both of which are 10000 added specials at the north side course courseThe The Texas Derby winner was in the money ten times out of eighteen starts as a juvenile but displayed vast improvement during the winter season Since the beginning of the year he has faced the starter ten times fin ¬ ishing first second and third each three times In addition to defeating Hickory Lad Somebody and others in the Texas Derby Plight ran second to his stablemate Indian Salute in the Dallas Handicap HandicapPlight Plight was not entered in the Kentucky Derby otherwise he would have been a starter He was a contestant in the Prepara ¬ tion Purse which Peace Chance won over the mile distance in recordbreaking time and was a fast finishing third although the top weight of the field Trainer Reuter is confident Plight will continue to improve through the summer
