DETROIT TURF NOTES That there will be no scarcity of jockeys is attested by the list already checked by William Kelly custodian of the jockeys quarters Those that have arrived are A Robertson Lee Humphries Joe Jacobs J Mattioli C Critchfield J Paradise C Lan dolt M Winters H Callahan N Le Blanc J Leyland P Petrella M Peters G Atkins A Beck F Mauro J Bryson R Mont ¬ gomery J Cowley J Burrell J Maschek W Carroll J H Scott F Munden P Roberts A Bloom A Yerrat M Helm G Williams R Morris G Quackenbush L Chanove L Garrett R Fischer D Taylor L Dronet J Beech P Groos P Sage F J Baker and M Wimmer WimmerSeven Seven carloads of horses reached here this morning Two cars transferred the horses of J Fred Adams the Starmount Stable H R Dickens and Admiral Gary T Grayson from Maryland while four cars came from Louisville and one from Lexington The Louisville shipments comprised the stables of Hal Price Headley A L Ferguson Col P T Chinn A C Van Winkle and W J Hirsch In the Lexington car were eight horses that came from owner Headleys Beaumont Farm and two the property of the Greentree Stable which were turned over to Marshall Lilley LilleyJoe Joe Chinn long a prominent trainer in the West and who is half owner of the horses that race for E R Plunkett has adopted the stable name of the Glen Helen Stud for his stable Glen Helen Stud six miles from Lexington was formerly the property of John S Barbee and was purchased by Messrs Chinn and Plunkett this spring It was the home of the noted sire Sweep until his death more than a year ago agoGeorge George Khrediel turf editor of the De ¬ troit News is the newest recruit to the owners ranks Khrediel has three twoyear olds to carry his colors They are Big Smoky a bay son of Blondin and Donwell More Pep a chestnut son of Canaan and Culture and Malay a chestnut son of Wil dair and Persian Rose He is training the trio and has applied for a trainers license licenseJack Jack Healey received Trumpery Finnkin Brabble and Rhadamanthus from New York to augment the C V Whitney stable he has here hereHarry Harry Unna is training Teralice Par Value Polydorus Brown Wisdom Old De ¬ pot Lemon Hills Hobnail Sidney Grant and Morovech for A Bartelstein
