SEEK EUROPEAN STARS FOR 1100000 RACE NEW YORK N Y June 30 Harry A Buck secretary of the United Hunts Racing Association is about to sail for Europe for the purpose of inducing owners of champion thoroughbreds in England France and other countries to send them to the United States to meet our outstanding horses Thomas W Durant president of the Amateur Associa ¬ tion stated Saturday Air Buck is representing the Santa Anita track in California said Durant The new track is offering a purse of 100000 for an international special at its meeting which opens Christmas Day It is hoped that sev ¬ eral of the classic winners abroad will be shipped here In such event special effort will be made to introduce them at the United Hunts meeting November 3 and 6 6Durant Durant spiked the rumor that the United Hunts Association was offering the 100 000 purse He is merely hopeful that Buck will be successful in his mission and that the local organization will find it possible to arrange an International event here for the invaders before they are sent on to the
