Won easily; second and third the same. NAUGHTY was rushed into contention after the start, disposed of GOLDEN LYRE in the early running, drew away and had speed in reserve. GOLDEN LYRE, close up all the way, could not stand off the challenge of the winner. PATSEY BEGONE broke fast, but was caught in close quarters and came again near the end. GENTLE TRYST, rushed into contention after the start, was caught in close quarters rounding the far turn and shuffled back. TWINKLING BROOK raced on the outside all the way. DEVILMENT broke slowly. BERCEUSE raced greenly. SPICY BIT ran well in spots. VOODOOISM raced greenly, but made up some ground from a slow beginning. CHIN UP dropped back after the start. STROPHE raced greenly. Won driving; second and third the same. WHOPPER showed speed from the start, but, on the outside, responded to pressure when called upon and outlasted GOLD BUCKLE in the final drive. The latter was placed under pressure shortly after the start, bore out slightly entering the stretch, but hung at the finish. THRUSTER, well up throughout, came again at the end. EPICAL slipped through on the inside entering the stretch, but was in close quarters at the eighth post. CHANCE RAY made a determined bid entering the stretch, but faltered at the finish. KING SAXON forced the early pace from the start, came to the outside rounding the far turn, disposed . of MISS MERRIMENT, in the stretch and drew away. SINGING WOOD improved his position steadily, responded in the stretch and finished steadily. ONLY ONE moved up with a rush entering the stretch, but faltered in the final sixteenth. MISS MERRIMENT showed high speed, saved ground, but faltered at the end. SGT. BYRNE was outrun in the first part, but made up ground at the end. PSYCHIC BID showed a good effort throughout. SAILOR BEWARE finished well. SOUND ADVICE closed with a rush from a slow beginning. DOGMATA and DREEL quit under urging. DEAN SWIFT quit. THE DARB was outrun. SHOT AND SHELL moved up with a rush nearing the far turn, was placed under pressure entering the stretch and had no mishaps. STONE MARTIN finished well. PRINCE POMPEY broke from outside the gate and made up some ground. MACHILLA quit badly.
