DATES FOR DELAWARE STAKES Two 10 000 Handicaps on List of Feature Attractions New Eastern Track Offering Approximately 10000 Per Day in Prize Money Close June 1 WILMINGTON Dela May 14 The 10 000 Kent Handicap a dash of one mile and a sixteenth for threeyearolds exclusively will be the opening day feature of the in ¬ augural meeting of the Wilmington Steeple ¬ chase and Race Association at the fine new race course that organization of Delaware sportsmen have constructed at Santon some seven or eight miles from Delawares metrop ¬ olis This meeting which will have the sup ¬ port of leading horsemen of all parts of the country will begin June 26 and run twenty five days through July 24 It will be marked by a purse distribution of upward of ten thousand dollars a day and be managed by Edward Burke who built the Havre de Grace race course a quarter of a century ago and has directed the eminently satis factory racing there ever since sinceThe The order of the running of the half a dozen features that will follow the Kent Handicap inaugural as announced by John P Turner clerk of the course will be beBrandywine Brandywine Handicap 7500 added three yearolds and over one mile and a sixteenth Saturday July 3 3Christiana Christiana Stakes 5000 added twoyear old colts and geldings five and onehalf furlongs Monday July 5 5Diamond Diamond State Stakes 7500 added three yearolds one mile and a furlong Saturday July 10 10Sussex Sussex Handicap 10000 added three yearolds and over one mile and a quarter Saturday July 17 17Newcastle Newcastle Handicap 10000 added three yearolds and over one mile and a sixteenth Saturday July 24 24Polly Polly Drummond Stakes 5000 added two yearold fillies five furlongs Saturday July 24 24Nominations Nominations for these specials will be re ¬ ceived by Edward Burke or John P Turner at Delaware Park Stanton Dela up to midnight June 1 In each of them the sub ¬ scription fee will be 25 the starting charge 100 additional and all of these fees will go to the winners Of the added money In the three 10000 races 2000 will go to the sec ¬ ond horse at the finish 1000 to the third 500 to the fourth In the 7500 events the second third and fourth horses will get 1500 750 and 350 respectively in the 5000 specials 1000 500 and 250 respec ¬ tively
