PAYOFF IN ALL DEAD HEATS In the case of any and all dead heats wagers made away from the track the chart prices should prevail if track odds were offered and accepted Where house odds were accepted the procedure should be as follows If 1 was bet on each horse and 3 to 1 laid on one horse the payoff should be 200 to the player and 200 to the layer if 2 to 1 was laid on the other the payoff should be 150 to the player and 150 to the layer Where one of the horses in a dead heat is quoted at oddson or less than even money the transaction is a loser For instance if 1 is bet on a 4 to 5 shot the payoff in the dead heat would be 90 cents playerThe to the layer and 90 cents to the player The amount of money bet plus the odds laid with the total divided equally between the player and layer is the regular method of payoff in dead heats where bookmaking odds prevail
