SHELLEY TROPICALSECRETAR Begins Preparation of First Book of Conditions for Meeting G R V ingfield Signed as Starter for Session SessionWhich Which Opens on December 19 Stalls Allotted MIAMI Fla Oct 18 Robert S Shelley now serving at Narragansett Park and re cently appointed secretary at Oriental Park Cuba will again serve as racing secretary at Tropical Park announced Norman W Graves president of the Gables Racing As ¬ sociation here today Shelley already Is working upon the first issue of the condjt tion book for the meeting that launches the Florida racing season on December 19 19Scion Scion of an old Kentucky racing family Shelley has risen rapidly in his profession Though still in his late thirties he is in charge of the racing divisions at Tropical Narragansett Oriental Park Woodbine Sportsmans Park and the tracks of the Canadian Prairie circuit circuitSimultaneously Simultaneously president Graves an ¬ nounced that G R Buddy Wingfield former rider who Is now rated at the top of his profession again will be the Tropical Park starter After the close of the Narra ¬ gansett meeting on November 12 Wingfield and his crack ground crew will move to Miami to begin schooling early in Decenf ber berAlthough Although all stalls have been allotted and waiting lists double the accommodations on file applications are still pouring into the local headquarters in charge of Frank D Schuyler general manager We could use another 1000 stalls he said saidHorsemen 1 Horsemen planning to race at Tropical Park are looking forward to a busy winteij Many of them will campaign at Hialcah t between the two Tropical Park meetings while most of the remainder will ship to I Oriental Park which will run following the close of the first Gables meeting on Jan ¬ uary 10 Many of the Tropical Park official family have been recruited to Oriental Park and a flourishing meeting is predicted with James Milton a veteran of the Cuban cam ¬ paigns succeeding Lou Smith at the helm
