HUGHES PLEASED WITH PLANE LOS ANGELES Calif July 14 After a fast flight of five hours and twentyone min ¬ utes from Portland Ore Howard Hughes millionaire sportsman and aviator said today he was pleased with the performance of a Boeing stratoliner in which he may attempt a nonstop flight around the world Hughes said he did not fly more than 12000 feet high for the major part of the trip and therefore did not have to use the planes oxygen equipment
