RACING WILL BE RESUMED AT WHEELING DOWNS TODAY TODAYWHEELING WHEELING W Va June 18 The West Virginia Jockey Club resumes racing here tomorrow following a blackout since the final of eight races that was staged here on Saturday when the first half of the twentysevenday meeting came to a sched ¬ uled halt During the first period of racing which began on May 28 and extended until June 14 most of the racing was conducted under disagreeable conditions on several oc ¬ casions when rain and blustery weather kept the racing surface inches deep in mud with the result that small fields participated in most of the races that were decided De ¬ spite the bad break in weather several good programs were offered the racing public here and the West Virginia Jockey Club was able to show a neat profit for the first thirteen days
