COL WINN MAKES DONATION TO AID HORSEMENS ASSN Voluntary Contribution to Cover Early Expenses of Organization OrganizationCRETE CRETE 111 June 18 Monte Weil vet ¬ eran Chicago horseman who serves the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective As ¬ sociation as its national secretary reports that Col Matt J Winn president of the American Turf Association has made an unsolicited and substantial donation to the midwestern organizationAccompanied chapter of that organization Accompanied by Roscoe Goose and Jake Lowenstein WeiJ had called upon the vet ¬ eran racing executive to outline to him the progress of the Illinois chapter which was organized during the Lincoln Fields meet ¬ ing The contribution according to Weil is more than enough to take care of the vari ¬ ous expenses for relief and organizational work incurred to date dateAt At a recent meeting officers were elected for the Illinois group Euall Wyatt was named secretary and treasurer while Albert Swenke Ed Carpenter Geo B Scallon L A Connors Victor E Berry John Daniels and Sam Molay were named to the board of directors with Scallon as chairman A finance committee consisting of Goose Swenke Leonard Wilson Lowenstein and Carpenter was also named namedWeil Weil has issued a call for the members of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protec ¬ tive Association and all horsemen interested to meet Friday night at 730 oclock at the Blue Bonnet Hall in Chicago Heights
