MACKS PRINCE SHOWS WAY TO FAIRMOUNT PARK RIVALS RIVALSMcCamey McCamey Juvenile Comes to Line Five Lengths Before Opera Queen QueenCOLLINSVILLE COLLINSVILLE 111 June 24 After en ¬ countering bad luck in his last two starts Macks Prince a sturdylooking twoyearold owned and bred by George B McCamey of Fort Worth Texas had everything his own way at Fairmount Park this afternoon and virtually walked away with the fourth race The son of Sangreal Proud Princess was five lengths before Jake Glenns Opera Queen at the end of the fivefurlong dash Fancy Face racing for McLean Ryan and a mem ¬ ber of the mutuel field finished third thirdBreaking Breaking with the first flight the victor was hustled along during the early part to keep pace with Opera Queen but after going threeeighths he shook off the Glenn racer and came away when ready to open up a commanding lead In a drive to the finish Macks Prince was drawing away while Opera Queen held Fancy Face safe the lat ¬ ter being three lengths to the rear rearIt It was the first race of the current meet ¬ ing in which twoyearolds were asked to go as far as five furlongs and the McCamey gelding raced the distance in 100 one fifth of a second off the track mark markThe The weather was partly cloudy with the temperature hovering in the low nineties which kept the attendance down FINALLY MAKES GRADE GRADEAfter After disappointing her many backers on five other occasions at the meeting Braxton Bell racing for J Neno finally found a field she could beat and triumphed in the first race in easy fashion over Selma May Broomian and eight others Sent to the front soon after the start by Nick Jemas the daughter of Sweep All disposed of Selma May after threeeighths an came away to a commanding lead entering the stretch and won with ease easeThe The successful colors of James Bronnen berg scored again in the second race when Miss Marilyn won her first race of the year defeating Can Help a member of the mutuel field Charm Aid and nine others at five and a half furlongs Andy LoTurco leading rider at the meeting had the mount on the winner and permitted Charm AH anJ Fairab to make the early pace while following in third position Entering the stretch LoTurco gave his mount her head and she came away to win by two lengths lengthsMaking Making her third start of the meeting Tuloma racing for Jack Oldham was an easy winner of the third race which was contested over the five and onehalf furlongs route Four Fifty a long shot was second and third went to I Might the favorite Outrun early the daughter of Montferrat was taken to the outside of the leaders en ¬ tering the stretch and wearing down I Might and Four Fifty came away to win by three lengths Four Fifty was easily best of the others saving the place by a length while I Might Semlika and Blonde Baby finished in a blanket finish for the show award
