Cuban Horseman Would Send French Sire to Texas Stud StudFORT FORT WORTH Texas May 12 There is a chance that the Frenchbred stallion Castel Fusano will be brought to Texas for the 1944 and 1945 seasons reports Dr Roberto A Vieites Havana Cuba breeder The stallion now at Douglas M Davis High Hope Farm Lexington Ky would be a decided addition to the Texas breeding structure structureTr Tr Vieites maintains a stock farm in Cuba and has the former Woolford sire Bow to Me in service there Dr Vieites and his associates recently acquired Gen Markham and the imported stallion Khoshbood by Mahmoud out of Farmood by Phalaris and were negotiating with the Greentree Stable for the fouryearold Buckskin by Swashbuckler when the Whitney clan presented the young stallion to the Remount Department DepartmentDr Dr Vieites is keen to move Castel Fusano to Texas He has written several breeders and it is believed one of them will accept the proposition Castel Fusano is a large horse well over 16 hands and has a good racing record Due to limited opportunities he has not had much chance at stud While at Elmendorf he was bred sparingly He started 13 times all stakes He won four was second six times twice fourth and once fifth and earned approximately 462021 francs about 20000
