Aqueduct Empire City Stakes Close Saturday Brooklyn and Butler Handicaps Top Events at Respective Tracks TracksNEW NEW YORK N Y May 12 Entries for the stake races to be run at the coming summer meetings at Aqueduct and Empire City will close on Saturday May 15 15The The nine fixtures which will be renewed during the 18day meeting of the Queens County Jockey Club June 7 to the 26th include the Brooklyn Handicap of 30000 added for threeyearolds and upward at one mile and a quarter the Dwyer Stakes of 25000 added for threeyearolds at one mile and a quarter the Carter Handicap 7500 added for threeyear olds and upward at seven furlongs the Queens County Handicap 5000 added for threeyearolds and upward at one mile and a sixteenth the Shevlin of 5000 added for threeyearolds at one mile and a sixteenth the Gazelle of 5000 added for threeyearold fillies at one mile and a sixteenth and three races for twoyearolds the Astoria 5000 for fil ¬ lies at five and onehalf furlongs the Tremont 5000 for colts and geldings at five and onehalf furlongs and the Great American 5000 at six furlongs furlongsSeven Seven stakes are scheduled for the meet ¬ ing of the Empire City Racing Association at Yonkers from June 28 through July 24 Those for threeyearolds and upward are the Butler Handicap of 30000 added at one mile and a quarter the Yonkers Hand ¬ icap of 10000 added at one mile and a sixteenth and the Fleetwing Handicap 7500 added at five and threequarter furlongs There is one race for threeyear olds the Empire City Handicap 10000 added at one mile and threesixteenths and three events for twoyearolds the Demoiselle for fillies the East View for colts and geldings and the Wakefield for both sexes each with an added value of 5000 and will be at a distance of five and threequarter furlongs
