George L Bag by Buys Le Mar Stock Farm FarmNew New Owner Announces Breeding Operations Will Be Continued ContinuedLEXINGTON LEXINGTON Ky June 11 George L Bagby of Graysont Ky and New York City has purchased Le Mar Stock Farm adjoining the Lexington sales pavilion on the Paris Pike it was announced here today todayBagby Bagby who previously acquired Lake George Farm in Woodford County formerly known as Fayewood stated that Le Mai Farm will continue to be operated as a thoroughbred breeding establishment The deed will be filed in Columbus Ohio the home of the late Leo Marks who became widely knoxyn through his philanthropies in the building of the Julius Marks Tuber ¬ culosis Sanitarium here hereSince Since Mr Marks death his estate has maintained the farm with A B Karsner Jr operating it under lease The residence has been occupied by Jack Welsh who has been in charge of the thoroughbred opera ¬ tions tionsThe The thoroughbred stallions Canaan and Misstep were sold with the farm as well as the race horse Many Stings seven brood mares and half interest in seven sucklings The brood mares are Strong More News lausanne May Mack Moongazer Sunny Spain and Gloria Monk MonkKarsner Karsner who will act as the farms man ¬ ager under the new ownership owned the other halfinterest in the seven sucklings Besides these thoroughbreds a the farm there is the brood mare Millie M a full sister to Roman Soldier owned by Kars ¬ ner Canaan and Misstep will continue to stand at Le Mar Farm Many Stings a gelding was retired from racing last year yearLe Le Mar consists of 286 acres and a number of wellimproved buildings Be ¬ sides thoroughbred operations general farming is carried on with the production of tobacco corn and barley barleyBagby Bagby is a brother of State Senator R M Bagby of Grayson The sale was consum ¬ mated by E B Webb real estate dealer but the purchase price was not made public
