New England Notes SUFFOLK DOWNS Boston Mass June 14 14Sidney Sidney Bernstein recently discharged from the United States Army plans to ac ¬ quire several thoroughbreds to campaign during the remainder of the New England season Jockey Bob Wholey accepted his first mount of the meeting astride Boston Vic ¬ tory in the third race Saturday Mrs D B Miller has sold at private terms the fouryearold filly Tripod to Dee Packer A Canadian campaign is ar ¬ ranged for the horse horseFrank Frank J Kearns shipped the twoyear cld filly Peppy Miss and the older Mana maid to Suffolk Downs to be trained by A Caracci Peppy Miss is to be nominated for next Saturdays Betsy Ross Stakes Jack Whyte is pointing Lt R F McDon ¬ nells Fleet Queen for Saturdays renewal of the 7500 Betsy Ross Stakes at five fur ¬ longs Rough Pass who apparently spends half his time on the stewards list again made that circle when he pulled up lame follow ¬ ing Fridays win Mr Brook was also added to the list Jockey Joe Renick registered with the jockey quarters coming from New York to ride Some Chance in the Plymouth Rock Handicap He returned to Aqueduct imme ¬ diately after the running of the stake stakeB B F Christmas and Harris Brown ar riyed at Suffolk Downs Saturday morning to saddle Some Chance and Kingfisher re ¬ spectively in their 5000 Plymouth Rock Handicap engagements Both trainers came from New York Apprentice S Haynes plans to pack and leave for Canada to resume riding at that point Mrs J J Bauer wife of the wellknown trainer is visiting at Suffolk Downs She came from her Florida home Evelyn Rolls twoyearold filly in the barn of H C Wolfe will be pointed for the 7500 Betsy Ross Stakes on June 19
