► ■ - - Johnny Longden Engaged To Ride Platter in Derby SAN MATEO, Calif., April 5.— After some difficulty in making arrangements for transportation for himself and family, jockey Johnny Longden was to depart this evening for New York. On his arrival in the East he will report to the stable of Mr. and Mrs. John Hertz. Before departing, Longden said that he has been engaged to ride G. D. Wideners Platter in the Kentucky Derby. Another Bay Meadows jockey whose services are being sought for the Kentucky Derby is George Woolf. who has several offers. Woolf, however, will not make a decision in this connection until he goes east in about two weeks.
