ROBERT F. moved up gradually throush the first quarter, came to the inside on the far turn and drew out under pressure. PLEASURE HOUR, well placed from the start, disposed of SCOTCH VALLEY and assumed the lead briefly, then gave way to the winner in the drive. COLONEL DON, a prominent factor from the break, went to the outside entering the stretch and closed resolutely. SCOTCH VALLEY tired after showing early speed. BESS DARLING showed high speed from the gate and, giving way to the winner, held on well thereafter. SPACE had no mishaps. NEW FLAME, on the outside all the Bay, withstood repeated challenges from UMPYDAN to the end under severe pressure. UMPYDAN followed the pace closely, bore out entering the stretch and tame again with good couraee. OBSERVER raced ©n the outside throuehout and showed a good effort. HEYORTA was prominent from the start and had no wiisLaps. REIMBURSEME was outrun early and came with a rush on the inside in the stretch run. ROBINS CROWN tired. FIFTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. JOHNNY JR., well pl.iced from the start, went to the outside entering the stretch run and eot up to win in the final strides under hard urging. LIBERTY PAN forced the early pace, disposed of BY CONSCRIPT and then hung. The latter .-. ,i ground all the way and faltered in the closing furlong. MOROCCO SIR challenged briefly entering the stretch and tired. JOE BURGER was pinched back soon after the break and, saving ground on the inside, could not improve his position. COMENOW, well handi.d. followed the pacemaker closely until reaching the far turn, saved eround into the home stretch and just lasted under hard urging to outfinish TIDY REWARD. The latter, well up from the start and while rounding the far turn, bore out, but finished well when straightened out for home. SCOTTSVILLE, well up early, was bumped by TIDY REWARD on the stretch turn, *ut finished well on the outside. JAMOKE took a short lead from the break and tired after going half a mile. LOYAL had no mishaps. CHERBOURG could not keep up. A claim of foul was lodged against the second horse, which was disallowed. EIGHTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. The latter was taken back soon after the break and, rated along until reaching the stretch, was wearing down the winner when put to pressure. PALADIN saved rround throughout and had no mishap* HARD BARGAIN ran out going into the first t!5rn and carried BELAY and BASILEUS with him H4RD BARGAIN was disqualified and placed fifth. BELAY, carried out on the first turn, could not improve his position thereafter.
