TAKING WAYS began slowly and, working his way up steadily, disposed of SUPER FOOT during the drive and won going away, Th« latter assumed command before going a quarter mile, made the pace to the final furlong but was unable to withstand the winner. FLEMINGSBURG, outrun to the stretch, finished fast. TINY SIS raced prominently to the stretch then tired. BACK TO BACK was unable to threaten. CAVATORTA improved his position steadily on the stretch and closed determinedly but could not menace the winner although easily bet of the others. REPUBLICAN raced evenly in a good effort and had no mishaps. HARPSICHORD began fast, made the pace to the upper turn then tired. TATlT began slowly. ROZIANTE never was prominent.
