Cranwood Park lnaugirates 19Day Meeting Wednesday WednesdayCRANWOOD CRANWOOD PARK Warrensville Ohio May 7 After standing idle for many years this practically rebuilt plant will be host to racing fans from Cleveland and eastern Ohio for 19 days beginning Wednesday May 12 The meeting to be sponsored by the Cranwood Racing Assqciation under the leadership of president George H Tip ling and general manager George W Lewis both of whbm liave been prominent figures in racing lit this sector for some ttme will be the first of two planned during the 1948 season at Cranwood Park Another session of similar duration will follow in the fall fallThe The miniature Cranwood Park track has been refurbished for the purpose of staging the sport usually held at Thistle Down The latter track has been inactive since a fire destroyed the clubhouse and grandstand in the fall of 1944 However the Thistle Down management the past three eyars has pre ¬ sented its meeting at the Randall Park track located just across the road from Thistle Do m mCranwood Cranwood Park situated on Miles Avenue and only a halfmile fromrthe Thistle Down track is in complete readiness for the open ¬ ing day program according to track super ¬ intendent J O Brown
