Facts in GulfstreamTRA Case Brought to Light LightAction Action Started Against Track Before Resignation From Body BodyNEW NEW YORK N Y June 1 Judge James E Dooley president of the Thor ¬ oughbred Racing Associations of the United States today revealed that prior to the receipt of Gulfstream Parks letter of resignation from the TRA on May 14 his organization had initiated action against James Donn head of the Hallandale Fla course which would have had him show cause why Gulfstream Park should not be expelled from TRA membership for viola ¬ tion of the Code of Standards StandardsIn In a letter written to Donn on May 27 and released for publication today Dooley stated that on May 11 before Donns letter of resignation had been received a special meeting of the TRAs board of directors was called for May 25 to consider and act upon reports of the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau on the ownership and operation of Gulfstream Park Racing As ¬ sociation as a result of an investigation ordered by the board of directors of the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of the United States Inc IncThe The letter goes on to say that inasmuch as Gulfstream Parks resignation from the TRA had been received before the date set for the meeting action by the board be ¬ came unnecessary and The Board unani ¬ mously voted to accept your resignation Dooley added that a copy of his letter to Donn was being sent to the Florida State Racing Commission CommissionHOLLYWOOD HOLLYWOOD Fla June 1 James Donn president of the Gulfstream Park Racing Association today acknowledged receipt of a letter from Judge James E Dooley head of the TRA informing him that Gulfstream Parks resignation from the organization of United States race tracks had been accepted and added addedOur Our reason for leaving the TRA is that services rendered by the TRA are not what he had expected and have been of no material benefit to the track management managementDonn Donn said that he was pleased that Dooley was sending a duplicate of the let ¬ ter to the Florida State Racing Commis ¬ sion because he Donn expected to go before the commission to vindicate Gulf stream Park
