Overflowing Fraser River Threatens Lansdowne Track TrackSEATTLE SEATTLE Wash June 2 Lansdowne race course situated on Lulu Island near Vancouver B C is threatened by the over ¬ flowing Fraser River The Fraser splits Into two tributaries at the peak of the Island approximately nine miles above the race track Labor has been conscripted to reinforce the dikes which undergoo a terrific strain when the tide comes in and backs up the river The situation is well in hand however and should the river rise considerablyvit would take from two to three to reach the property of the Brit ¬ ish Columbia Turf and Country Club If this eventually should occur it is believed there would be sufficient time to divert the flood waters from the course courseThe The Seattle area has been fortunate in that no flood threatens along any of its tributaries The Longacres plant at Ren ton just outside Seattles southern city limits is in perfect condition and the sta ¬ ble area is ready to accommodate thor ¬ oughbreds to full capacity for the forth ¬ coming meeting which commences June 26
