released here yesterday the license of Angelo Cilio as a trainer in Illinois is revoked and he is denied all privileges at all tracks in the State for his alleged part in the injection by hypodermic needle of a fluid into the horse Richwall at Washington Park on June 1 1According According to findings by a chemist representing the Illinois Racing Board samples of urine taken from the horse and in the presence of Cilio after the horse had won the first race at the above track on June 1 showed positive reaction for the presence of benzedrine benzedrineThe The Board further ordered that all in ¬ formation in this matter be referred to the States Attorney of Cook County for such action as he may deem appropriate appropriateThe The text of the Racing Boards order follows followsThis This cause coming on to be heard upon the order of the stewards of Lincoln Fields Racing Association entered at Washington Park race track Homewood 111 June 3 1948 suspending Angelo Cilio trainer and referring the matter to the Illinois Racing Board and due and proper notice of hear ¬ ing haying been served upon the said Angelo Cilio and the said Angelo Cilio hav ¬ ing appeared in person and by counsel before the Illinois Raping Board on June 8 1948 and June 1J3 948 and the Illinois Racing Board having heard and considered the testimony and evidence presented as a aContinued Continued on Page Three result of an investigation conducted by and on behalf of the Illinois Racing Board and also testimony and evidence presented by and on behalf of Angelo Cilio does hereby find 1 That it has jurisdiction of the said Angelo Cilio trainer and of the subject matter hereof 2 That Angelo Cilio was licensed as a trainer by the Illinois Racing Board for the year 1948 3 That the horse RICHWALL was the winner of the first race at Lincoln Fields race meeting at Washington Park race track Homewood 111 on June 1 1948 4 That the horse RICHWALL was owned by N L Raffelman and trained by Angelo Cilio 5 That samples of the saliva arid of the urine of said horse RICHWALL were taken in the presence of Angelo Cilio trainer shortly after the first race on June 1 1948 at Washington Park race track Homewood 111 and were delivered to the chemist representing the Illinois Racing Board in accordance with Rules 235 and 236 of the Illinois Racing Board 6 That the said chemist representing the Illinois Racing Board reported posi ¬ tive reaction for the presence of benze ¬ drine in the urine of the said horse Rich wall 7 That benzedrine is a stimulant 8 That on June 3 1948 the stewards of the Lincoln Fields Racing Association at Washington Park race track Homewood 111 entered the following order to wit witIt It is hereby ordered 1 That Angelo Cilio is suspended and his case referred to the Illinois Racing Board for further action and 2 That all horses owned or trained by Angelo Cilio be barred from further entry 3 That the purse won by the horse Richwall on June 1 1948 at Lincoln Fields meeting at Washington Park race track Homewood 111 be held until further ac ¬ tion and not distributed 4 That this entire matter be referred to the Illinois Racing Board for further action 9 That Angelo Cilio trainer on June 1 1948 at the race meeting of the Lincoln Fields Racing Association at the Washing ¬ ton Park Race Track Homewood HI at about 1 oclock post meridian injected by hypodermic needle a fluid into the horse RICHWALL 10 That the horse RICHWALL was at the time of the running of the first race at the meeting of the Lincoln Fields Rac ¬ ing Association at Washington Park Race Track Homewood HI stimulated by the drug benzedrine benzedrineIt It is therefore ordered that the ruling of the said stewards at Lincoln Fields Rac ¬ ing Association at Washington Park Race Track Homewood HI entered in the case of Angelo Cilio trainer on June 3 1948 be and the same is hereby sustained sustainedIt It is further ordered that the license of the said Angelo Cilio as a trainer in the State of Illinois for the year 1948 be and the same is hereby revoked and andIt It is further ordered that the said An ¬ gelo Cilio be and he is hereby denied all privileges of all race
