Jeffords Sending Colt to England EnglandTo To Reenter international Racing With Bally Macad Good Juveniles in String StringLEXINGTON LEXINGTON Ky June 16 Walter M Jeffords the master of Faraway Farm has gone back into International racing again with the sending of a promising twoyear old to Captain BoydRochfort in England The colts name is Bally Macad and is by the English champion Bahram out of Irish Norah who is by Pharamond II from the Man o War mare Judy OGrady Capt Rochfort is expected to send the colt out for his initial effort late this year yearOn On this side Jeffords has in addition to his older horses several likely twoyear old prospects Green Baize who is by Case Ace from another daughter of Judy OGrady Blue Denim has accounted for the filly division of The National Stallion Stakes and two other races Another two year old who has shown promise is War ¬ monger Teddys Comet War Hysteria who has won his only two starts in easy fashion and managed to clip two seconds off the existing record in his first start at Havre de Grace racing on a good track Then there is talk of an even better colt in the barn This is Saggitarius who is by Teddys Comet from the young Man o War mare War Regalia He was a beaten odds on choice in his lone outing but is expected to show well before the racing season closes closesJuvenile Juvenile Sister to Pavot PavotAmong Among Jeffords twoyearolds who have never started there are some wellbred thoroughbreds a sister in blood to Pavot a halfsister to Firethorn by Market Wise and a Questionnaire filly out of the good race mare Regal Lily LilyAt At Faraway Farm near Lexington Wal ¬ ter Jeffords the wellknown Philadelphia sports enthusiast has collected a fine group of mares around the superior racer Pavot Pavot has about rounded out his first year at the stud and is showing prom ¬ ise Harrie B Scott manager of Jeffords breeding interests holds high hopes for his future Pavot as most know won seven straight stakes races as a twoyearold in ¬ cluding the Futurity at Belmont Park As a threeyearold he won the mile and a half Belmont Stakes as a fouryearold he accounted for the twomile Jockey Gold Cup along with several other important stakes races racesJeffords Jeffords has assembled through many years of selective breeding as fine a group of broodmares as one could desire They are of such uniform excellence that it would be difficult to prefer any particular one Many who saw Regal Lily and Creole Maid win such important events as the Coaching Club American Oaks and the Alabama Stakes would be inclined to favor them However Coquelicot cannot be over ¬ looked for she produced Pavot However Coquelicot cannot be overlooked for she produced Pavot Another of the better known mares is Baton Rouge dam of Fire thorn who was twice winner of the Jockey Club Gold Cup and the Suburban SuburbanAt At the farm there are many likely pros ¬ pects among the yearlings and sucklings A chestnut filly by Count Fleet Regal Lily a chestnut colt by Mahmoud Ace Card and many others Judging from the results Jeffords has very sound breeding theories along with his sportsmanship for he plans all the matings himself and has done so for a number of years
