Citation Breezes Swift Half Mile in 462s 462sARLINGTON ARLINGTON PARK Arlington Heights 111 June 22 The Calumet Farms Citation showed his initial speed performance on the training track this morning when he stepped a half mile in 46 The handsome colt was breezing through ¬ out the journey journeyTrainer Trainer Jimmy Jones said he was well pleased with the trial but that he has not yet made up his mind regarding starting the colt in Saturdays Equipoise Mile MileOrdinarily Ordinarily there wouldnt be any doubt about starting Citation but he has so many fine opportunities ahead of him that the question of pitting him against older horses and conceding so much weight on scale has caused us to weigh the decision Jones said saidFrom From what I can observe Citation is better right now than at any time of his life We didnt want him to work so swiftly this morning but he went along so easily that the boy couldnt hold him back without choking him himWe We worked him today to keep him on edge just in case it is decided to start him A short breeze near the weekend would put him on edge Well know more later
