Fuson, Member of Undefeated West Point Grid Teams, Dead MIDDLESBORO, Ky., June 15 UP— Capt. Herschel "Ug" Fuson, a member of the great Army football teams of the middle 1940s, died atjiis home here last night after complaining several days of a "tightness in his chest." Wounded twice in Korea, Capt. Fuson was sent back"* to the States and was home on leave from Fort Knox, Ky., when *he died. While at the TJ. S. Military Academy at West Point, where he was graduated in 1948, Fuson teamed in the backfield with All-Americans Felix "Doc" Blanchard and Glenn Davis. Before entering West Point, Fuson attended the University of Tennessee and served a year in the Navy. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
