OUT BOUND JR. went to the front soon after the beginning, established a good lead when settling in the stretch, but was briskly handled thereafter to withstand KHAMS HOUR. The latter, outrun to the stretch, was taken out for the drive and closed fast in a good effort. KIBBITZ raced evenly to the stretch, then finished well under punishment. MONOLITH failed to rally when set down in the drive. BIG CASINO was outrun. TOLECA tired after showing early speed. MONFALON began alertly, but dropped back and raced wide tothe stretch, then sulked during the drive. WAR HAL could not keep up. Scratched— 31380 Winstay, 115; 288192 Sir Spic, 114. BRASSY LIE saved ground while racing within striking distance of the leaders to the stretch, responded well when set down in the drive and disposed of the leaders during the final furlong. KEEP MOVING raced BIG DANCE into defeat before entering the stretch, continued gamely, But was unable to hold the top one. SUGAR BEET, on the inside throughout, closed fast, but could not overtake the leaders. BIG DANCE had early speed, engaged KEEP MOVING for three-eighths mile, then weakened. KING GAIL began sluggishly. GRABRO was outrun. MISS MENIFEE could not keep up. DOTTY MAC was through early. Scratched— 30902 Blob Jr., 114; 307943 Cleaned, 120. Overweight— Dotty Mac, 2 pounds. ABISOK began fast, but gave way to MISS CARACAS before going a quarter mile, responded well when hard urged through the stretch and, after disposing of the latter, held the advantage while under strong handling. MISS CARACAS, a sharp factor from the outset, went to the front early, held a short lead when settled in the stretch, but could not withstand the top one. NOCALLULA finished well and had no mishap. VERADAR could not better her position when set down through the stretch. PLATTER SCOUT could not keep up after beginning fast. HENRYS FIRST was outrun. MISWEET gradually improved position to the stretch, raced by LEAPING MOOSE during the drive, then held ROUGH N READY safe. The latter swerved to the inside when punished during the stretch run and could not overtake the winner, although easily best of the others. GREY SCOUT engaged LEAPING MOOSE to the stretch and was tiring badly when bothered • by ROUGH N READY nearing the furlong pole. LEAPING MOOSE went to the front at once, made the pace . to the last eighth, then gave way. CATNIP HILL raced wide. UNCLE SI was outrun. KNOTTY PINE was I through early. WENDYS RAIDER had no excuse. MISS TEXAS began fast, but dropped back after the break, came again during the drive,, but could not threaten the leaders. DOC STEARN was outrun. BOSS BROKER could not keep up.
