MY DIVIDEND, in closest pursuit of the early leader to the stretch, responded readily when set down for the drive and, under clever handling, was up in the concluding strides. ESPIONNE made the pace until well inside the final furlong before weakening. SGT. BROWN, guided to the inside for the drive, was not good enough. FRANKiE D. raced evenly from the three-furlong marker to the stands without mishap. WHOSE rallied too late to become an endangering factor. STAR PIGEON was unable to keep up. SULTANPEPPER and SMART EVE were always outrun. MAIL FROM HOME failed to attain the lead and tired. EVER ON showed nothing. AMOUR AMOUR made the pace to the stretch under .steady rating and held sway thereafter to win as her rider pleased. WILD MINK raced in closest attendance to the winner, but was unable to reach the latter when hard ridden through the stretch. GEE-LIGHT had no apparent excuse. DESERT lacked a rally. SWEET SEELEY tired. FOOLISH WAR raced wide. HADRAINI quit. LOCAL BELLE was never a threat. SKY MUSIC raced PATTY ROCK into defeat to assume a clear lead entering the stretch and, in a long drive, gamely withstood GUNTER. A claim of foul against the winner by the cider of GUNTER for alleged fouling during the stretch run was not allowed. GUNTER came out for the drive, under punishment reached nearly even terms with the lead inside the stretch, then hung. OBSTINATE SI. guided to the middle of the track for the final test, was not good enough. PATTY ROCK quit. VINITA TONEY was always between horses temporarily, was forced to take up when in close quarters soon after the beginning and failed to recover. ILLINI and ETERNAL ZA were never prominent. TORDAR failed to respond when set down for the ultimate test MISTER MORGAN raced evenly through the late stages without mishaD. FRENCH ADMIRAL was unable to obtain the lead and tired.
