Maryland to try for the second jewel in the Triple Crown the Preakness Stakes to be run a week from Saturday Hill Gail homebred son of Bull Lea and Jane Gail brought the Mrs Warren Wright owned Calumet establishment its fifth tri ¬ umph in the rich threeyearold classic while trainer Ben Jones saddled his sixth Derby victor and Eddie Arcaro chalked up his fifth winning trip in the Downs stake The records established by Calumet Jones and Arcaro certainly will take a lot of breaking and veteran turf men around the shedrows this morning were discussing the allaround ability of the victorious combination Most of the horsemen at the local oval are conceding the Preakness to Hill Gail pointing out that the distance may be advantageous to the Calumet star and that the Pimlico turns are made to order for the colt Trainer Jones however stated that his main problem is keeping Hill Gail in his present form the colt hav ¬ ing been kept on edge since his Santa Anita Derby success in February
