Ohio Notes CRANWOOD PARK Warrensville Heights Ohio May 5 5Robert Robert Bob Bowers of the Ohio State Racing Commission has been on hand for several days taking care of his customary duties of licenses and routine business for the commission Bob will leave here in a day or so to take up similar duties prior to the opening of Beulah Park at Grove City Ohio next Saturday SaturdayHarry Harry Applefeld a newcomer to racing Fred Burtons secretarial staff and Jack OKeef f es publicity department distributed over 1800 posters to the surrounding towns over the weekend The posters advertise the meeting and have an added attraction insofar as a map for directions to the track from all points within a radius of 75 miles Attractively made up in color the posters also make an ideal souvenir souvenirIke Ike Bassett Jockeys Guild representa ¬ tive for this section of the country left here Saturday evening to return to his home in Chicago While here he announced that jockey Sammy Palumbo and Willie Pool would be his representatives Palumbo has evidently hit his stride arid rode G Stalkers Rabbit Point to victory in the eighth race opening day Pool has not taken up his saddle duties but expects to don silks shortly
