MUSCIDAE went into command on the backstretch, drew clear rounding the turn and held RACHEL G. safe under punishment. The latter saved ground while pressing the pace and showed a good effort but could not get to the top one. QUERY, far back until leaving the turn, came through on the inside with a strong, belated bid. LEES FIRST was rushed into a contending position and had nothing left for the real test. ELJAKA was on nearly even terms for command on the rail, shook off EFCEE leaving the turn and drew away and won fully extended. BELLUNO raced slightly wide moving into a conteding position and closed willingly. FLYING CIRCUS was a sharp factor early and faltered in the drive. PRISM stumbled at the start. FIRST REFUSAL made the pace for a short distance after the start, was no match for the winner and faltered in the drive. ELIAS G. had no excuse. FIRST WING came out of the race lame. TINY REQUEST was on nearly even terms on the rail and outgamed CONFEDERACY in the drive. The latter vied for the lead from the start and rmssed in a good effort. ME saved ground while prominent and lacked a closing rally. MINE EYES got away sluggishly, had to be cautiously handled while going between horses, came out for the drive when clear and closed well. CLIVE OF INDIA drew out rapidly on his own courage rounding the second turn, was given a breather when the advantage narrowed when on the back-stretch the final time, then held a safe advantage under urging through the finish run. BYNG made the pace until entering the backstretch the first time and was taken back, was rated along nearing the eleventh fence, made a mild bid midway of the finish run and hung. HITEX, in good position but blocked and hemmed in along the backstretch, saved ground on the turn, came through on the rail in the stretch, took command about forty yards from the finish and outgamed TOM FOOL. The latter, between horses while a sharp factor along the backstretch, was eased back when bearing out entering the turn, moved up rapidly on the outside to be on nearly even terms for command and hung. DUKE FANELLI was in close attendance of the pace while on the outside in the opening half mile and faltered in the final furlong. GIORGETTI vied for command until the stretch and shortened stride. WHITHER was slow to begin, as was COLOR GUARD. ANCESTOR was outrun. TRUE PATTERN had good speed until midstretch and quit. Scratched— 609043 Heap Big Chief, 113. GILLIE YOUNG, reserved in the opening half mile, moved up with a rush on the outside rounding the final turn, drew into a clear advantage in the stretch and just lasted over NOVEL REQUEST. The latter trailed until leaving the final turn, made up ground steadily thereafter and was getting to the winner. HIGHQUILLO had no excuse in a creditable effort. TIARPES made the pace for six furlongs and held on willingly after being headed. KAYS CHILDREN failed to respond. THE SPANIEL and SCRAPPY tired. Overweight— Scrappy, 2 pounds. RUSTICATE was far back early, found room on the inside on the final turn, came out for the drive and drew clear after disposing of SUN CROSS. The latter gained command when WINOLA quit, drew out under urging and tired in the final sixteenth mile. ETERNAL LIGHT made a game bid in the stretch and swerved when tiring badly. RABLETTA had nothing left for the drive. MUSIC HOSS showed nothing. GALLANT PAULA quit. SAO PAULO ran wide much of the way. WINOLA had brief speed, quit badly and was eased up the final quarter mile.
