TO THE FRONT was prominently placed, swung slightly wide at the head of the stretch, then closed gamely under extreme pressure and was up in the last stride to nip BIG FLIGHT. The latter held a clear lead while setting the pace from the beginning, saved all possible ground and just failed to last. POMALEE saved ground and appeared dangerous in the early stretch, but lacked a closing rally. CARLT0.N MISS raced on the outside until midway of the turn, then ducked in between horses, but could not get up in the drive. NEXT BEST began alertly, but bore out, as usual, on the turn and weakened. TRIPLE LIE raced on the outside. LUCIETE and DEVIL FREE began sluggishly. LADY ALICIA appeared ready to run by CHARMING WAY going to the far turn but raced extremely wide on the turn, then closed resolutely under punishment in the stretch run and, while finishing in the middle of the track, proved best. CHARMING WAY quickly opened a long lead on the turn, appeared safely in front mid-stretch but weakened. PLENTIFUL was a sharp factor but failed to gain when punished. MOVIE made up distance from a slow beginning. ALLAH-VHY raced wide and was in hand most of the distance. LATE RETURN was shuffled back entering the stretch. WISETTA could not keep up. INFLUENCE was under confident restraint while racing in company with HATFIELD, easily disposed of that one rounding into the stretch and drew out with speed in reserve. HATFIELD began alertly, raced very greenly throughout, but showed good speed to the stretch, then swerved when roused, but lasted to narrowly best the others. ACRES N ACRES raced prominently placed, came out slightly for the stretch drive and finished gamely to be on even terms with AVION. The latter lacked early speed, swerved sharply to the inside running up behind the leaders near the end and finished fast to be up to dead-heat for the show. LESLIEFAY weakenea. FOUR JACKS was outrun. JUNGLE JAG was in slightly close quarters while racing next to the rail down the backstretch and tired. CRAFTY VIXEN bore out on the turn and was eased back. FRENABILBEPA dashed into a long lead immediately after the start, held sway while in hand and won as her rider pleased. STEPCHILD was unable to gain a smooth stride when hustled after a good beginning and could not match speed with the winner, held on well after settling down, however, and gamely held COMMANDANT safe. The latter lacked early speed while going in climbing fashion and failed to menace under punishment in the drive. GO BETWEEN was hustled along early and weakened. GRAY FLEET was steadied while saving ground and, within easy striking distance, wrested command entering the stretch and continued determinedly to hold the opposition safe. RUGGED BOY was taken to the outside while racing to the first flight on the turn, loomed boldly under punishment in the early stretch, but drifted slightly wide and hung. CORFEL willingly gave way to FLYING POLLY when challenged at the half-mile pole, came slightly wide into the stretch and weakened. FLYING POLLY was alertly hustled to reach the front and had nothing left in the final stages. DRUIDS LYRICS saved ground but lacked a rally. COMET BOY quit. SILK QUEST was not a factor. PALATIAL APPETITE was slow to settle into stride, rushed past the leaders from the outside going down the backstretch and opened a long lead on the turn, then drifted wide, tired, and was all out at the finish. EUCLID was well placed behind the leaders, saved ground on the stretch turn and closed determinedly. WHIFFENPR00F alertly dashed to the front but could not shake off THEE AND ME, willingly gave way to the winner, bore out entering the stretch, then came again under punishment and finished well. CROCODILE was in hand while outrun, saved ground throughout and, when lightly roused entering the stretch, closed last. UNSINATUS improved position while saving ground on the final turn, but lacked a raily. MY CELESTE was in hand while trailing and passed only tiring horses THEE AND ME was under pressure showing early speed and faltered. HELEN MAY quit. SILVER LAMEE gradually worked his way forward between horses, came to the outside approaching the leaders on the final turn, was carried slightly wide by HOOPDEDONT, but bested that one at the end. HOOPDEDONT was sent into closer contention while racing between horses, gained a short lead entering the stretch, then drifted out under urging and fought it out gamely. TURF STAR rushed forward on the outside to loom boldly at the head of the stretch, then weakened and drifted to the inside. DEARIES ROUND was a sharp factor, but dropped back when in close quarters on the final turn. CERTAINLY was outrun. DASH-0-LIGHT faltered in the drive. SPRINGBUCK raced on the outside throughout. SIG dwelt at the start. SEFS BET set the early pace under pressure and quit. ESSIE M. showed nothing. Overweight — Dearies Round, 2 pounds. EIGHTH RACE 1 1-8 MILES. The latter ran up behind horses rushing into contention on the final turn, came sharply to the outside at the head of the stretch, brushed lightly with the winner, then hung despite strong punishment. SUPER-SALESMAN was closing strongly on the ioside when blocked behind ROYAL FREEDOM next to the rail in the stretch, losing a winning chance. ROYAL FREEDOM set an even pace but faltered when headed. GRANGINE came from far back. FREE PASSES was sore and could not untrack himself early. SECNAV quit. PERFECT gave a dull effort.
