nineteenth convention of the National As ¬ sociation of State Raping Commissioners All indications point to one of the most constructive and objective forums in the history of the racing commissipners associ ¬ ation President D Thomas Testa will call the first of the four days business sessions to order at 930 a m Monday in the Sheraton Plaza Hotel headquarters of this convention That the meetings will have large representative attendances is assured from the fact that this week end 127 racing commissioners and their guests and dele ¬ gates of all other United States turf and bloodstock organizations had made reserva ¬ tions These plus several visiting turf fig ¬ ures from Havana Mexico and Canada the press and 22 members of the Associa ¬ tion of Official Racing Chemists ChemistsRhode Rhode Island Day Sunday SundaySunday Sunday is Rhode Island Day for the delegates who will be the guests of the neighboring states racing and athletics commission and the management of the Lincoln Downs and Narragansett racing associations During the morning and afternoon Monday they are to hear reports from committees who have made studies of such very pertinent matters as public relations night racing uniform rules in ¬ ternational relations offcourse wagering state revenues and legislation Additionally DrTrank R Menne will make his treas ¬ urers report Mrs A E Smith the ciation Some of these addresses are ex ¬ pected to take quite a provocative turn as it is learned unofficially representatives of various of the horsemens groups have sug ¬ gestions to be advanced in the hope of ap ¬ proval and general acceptance by the com ¬ missioners missionersAs As for the committee reports it seems un ¬ likely the racing commissions thinking on offcourse betting to which they are of course unalterably opposed will undergo any change And in general they have been inclined to take a dim view also of night racing and the spiralling trend of tote commissions commissionsFor For
