BROWN THISTLE AND DAVY JOHNSON. New York, December 18. "I got a tip on Bellwether on Saturday from Jimmy McCormlck," said Dave Johnson, Monday last. "He started In the first race at New Orleans and I bet ,200 on him. . But along comes a horse named Brown Thistle and beats him. I owned Brown Thistle once, but he was such a plug that I sold him to a man who said he was going to make a saddle horse out of him. That is why Brown Thistle made me feel ill on Saturday after I had wired my bet to the track."
