Mintla was a close and fast contender for the first bait and stood the llnal drive with rare sameness, outstaving Mazapan. The latter was always prominent and under the whip all of tfie final eighth and finished gamely; but could not quite get up. Escamado closed up ground gradually and finished with a rush. Luckett came fast at the end. Fustian closed a big gap and finished with a great rush. The tog showed the most early speed, but tired as If short and will do to watch. Im Joe made up much ground. Progress ran within easy call of Creston Boy until well into the stretch, where he dashed into a big lead, making his opponents appear cheap. Creston Boy showed the most speed for four and a half furlongs, but tired badly in the final hundred yards. Hallie Sherman came fast in the stretch and outstayed Bazll in a game finish for third place. The latter ran well and gamely. Gabrielle showed speed to the stretch, but fell away fast when an eighth out. Gene Wood drew into a long lead quickly and seemed a certain winner, but tired and quit when challenged by the winner. Dr. Simrall made up ground and finished with a rush. Wise Child i showed speed to the stretch, but tired in the final drive. Charlie Doherty also showed speed. Waldorf, off slowly, was going well at the end. Scratched 71419 Latona, 103. Prolific tired badly in the last hundred yards after six furlongs of sharp pacemaking. Prince Nap came from far back in the final quarter, finishing with a rush. Anona finished fast and gamely. Beecher ran a good race, tired only in the last few strides and should do soon. Red Reynard was going well at the end. Sharp Boy was speedy, but tired. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
