Jiu Jitsu set the early pace and tired at the end of a mile and a halt. Helen Shea was a keen contender for half of the journey, but fell. Sir John Johnson, in rare form, made the running bv a wide gap for five furljngs, but tired in the closing drive and was palpably short. McCarter ran forwardlv and unexpectedly gamely throughout. Ruble, away poorly, closed a big gap in a fast finish. Golden Legend came fast from the rear and is promising. Seymour Beutler ran iu early prominence and Is short. Warden ran well up to the stretch.
