PALMETTO PARK TRACK NOW READY. Improvements Alter Aspect of South Carolina Racing Plant More Arrivals of Turfmen. Charleston, S. C, November 27. The miuJr improvements on the Palmetto Park racing plant reached completion this afternoon and the track, stand and offices are now in thoroughly up-to-date shape for the opening of the thirty-day meeting December 2. The Improvements have altered the appearance of the course vastly and made it more substantial in every respect. Newcomers from Maryland say that interest in the coming season of racing here is greater than ever before and that most of those now at. Havre de Grace will be here for the opening. The special trains coming from there, the first of which will start tomorrow, will be filled to capacity. Some owners will have to delay their departure on account of a scarcity of cars iu which to ship their horses. Four carloads of racers reached here this afternoon. They embraced consignments from the H. G. Bedwell, J. O. Talbott and W. S. House stables. Owners Bedwell and House arrived here this morning from Baltimore. C. R. Ellison arrived this morning from Baltimore and will remain throughout the meeting. He expressed the belief that the present meeting will compare favorably with any previously held here. Harry Keys, assistant to Track Superintendent Frank Keegan at Latonia, arrived this morning from Cincinnati and will have charge of the local track. Trainer John Whalen telegraphed here today that he would send ten horses, including Buskin, from Havre de Grace, and requested stable reservation for the consignment. S. P. Bernard was among todays arrivals from Cincinnati. From Lexington, Ky., came today J. H. Baker, in charge of his own horses and those owned by R. L. Baker. J. M. Goodes horses also arrived from the same point. Among the best trials this morning were: Archery Three-eighths in 37. Bayberry Candle Three-quarters in 1:10. Big Dipper Seven-eighths in 1:35. Bingo Five-eighths in 1:04. Dicks Pot Five-eiabths in 1:03. Gabrio Half mile in 49. Gold Oari Three-quarters in 1:20. Kelly Half mile in 51. LAiglon Three-quarters in 1:18. Louise Paul Five-eighths In 1:03. Martre Five-eighths in 1:04. - -- - Rodondo Seven-eighths In 1:30. Skcets Half mile in 51. St. Charlcotc Five-eighths iu 1:04. Supreme Half mile in 50.
